iranian official says he hopes chuck hagel will help make practical changes in american foreign policy. some of his fellow republicans say they cannot and will not support hagel because of his record on israel and iran. he once made a comment about the quote jewish lobby and some of the, quote, dumb things they do. but later went on to say he supports israel in every way in the same conversation. at any rate now tells nebraska newspaper critics have completely distorted his record. he has shown unequivocal support for israel and called iran a sponsor of terrorism many times. first, there was a fire on one plane. now a fuel leak on another. the aircraft maker boeing dealing with a pair of problems on newest passenger jet the dream liner. what's up here? we will get a report next. plus a guy wins a million bucks in the lottery. the next day he is dead. investigators at the time said natural causes. they are digging up the body now to try to figure out who poisoned him. that and the rest of the night's journalists on this fox news tuesday fox report. it's the little things in life that ma

if chuck hagel gets his way. president obama nominated the vietnam vet to take over as defense secretary. senator hagel has called the defense department bloated. so between his views and half trillion dollars of spending cuts looming the u.s. military may have to find ways to save a lot of money. jennifer griffin with the news. she is live at the pentagon. tell us about the potential cuts if you would? >> the first cuts will probably be to the size of the force. the air force announced it was already planning to cut the size of its force and to cut back on the number of flying hours that planes do. right now the u.s. is spending about $85 billion a year on the war in afghanistan. it will go down to about 3 or 6,000 troops in afghanistan which would pay the tax payer 75 billion a year. >> everybody forgets if we suddenly have a crisis in the gulf with iran if we face a nuclear issue which forces us to deal with preventative stripes, then we have a completely different defense and mill tear spreending profile again. >> with things heating up in mali you have u.s. forces pulling out of one
